Alginor secures funding and appoints new CEO
Alginor ASA held an extraordinary general meeting at Husøy on 31 August 2026. All resolutions on the agenda were approved, securing the funding required for the company to continue operations, with Hatteland as the company’s principal shareholder. The terms are set out in the notice of 17 August 2026 and in the shareholder letters of 16 July, 17 August and 26 August 2026, all available below.
The company’s priority going forward is the work already under way: maturing its products commercially at the F2 pilot facility and in the laboratory, continued harvesting with Hypomar, establishing a viable drying concept, and planning a restart of the F3 facility. The new equity funds this work and secures continued operations.
Peer Lea takes up the position as Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1 September 2026. He has served as the company’s Chief Financial Officer since 1 April 2026 and joined Alginor from a partner role at Boston Consulting Group. Sven Sele returns as interim Chief Financial Officer, a role he held from March 2025 to April 2026, and Jon Efskind continues in the management group.
A subsequent offering will be directed towards the company’s other shareholders, giving them the opportunity to participate on the same terms as the largest shareholders. It requires a national prospectus and is currently expected to be carried out in October. Documentation will be sent to eligible participants and published at alginor.no.
As previously communicated, the new capital does not fund a restart of F3 or the scale-up of harvesting and drying. Further capital will be required before the company can be expected to generate revenue on a scale. The level of capital required has not yet been determined and will depend on how much of the value chain the company will control itself.
